This morning we boarded a train, claimed our spots on the floor (turns out it was a graduation weekend) and rode it out until we reached the city of Oxford ->. Although I had been to Oxford a couple times no two city visits are ever the same. This time I was visiting with fellow Britbounders -> and we took full advantage of one of the cities free walking tours. But before we began the tour we took the opportunity to feast on some free fudge samples.
Post walking tour we treated ourselves to milkshakes at the covered markets -> before getting back into the streets for more exploring. and of course finding some pubs. Our first attempted stop was the Bear Inn -> known for its large collection of cut-off ties. Alas it was too full so we moved on to the Turf Tavern -> where former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke set a Guinness World Record for consuming a yard glass of ale in 11 seconds in 1963. after a pit stop for food we climbed the tower of the University Church of St Mary the Virgin -> for some night time city views before catching our train back to London.
