It’s Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas

December 12th

BritBound -> Brugge Christmas Markets

The night before we are set to board the ferry I finally get a place of my own (well shared) and yet because of our early departure I will be spending one last night in my hostel. (What’s one more night after 3 1/2 months of shared accommodation?)

That morning Emma and I discovered we had a mutual friend in Canada and stuck together for the bus ride to Dover and through the weekend. Our weekend started with the worst walking tour I could have ever imagined. I have been to Brugge -> before so could tell from the start that we were not headed anywhere interesting.  But it did end and we moved on and got to visit the Brugge Christmas Markets which was the whole point of the trip.

We filled the rest of the weekend with visits to the Historium ->, The Groeningmuseum -> walks around the historic city centre and repeat visits the Christmas markets.

And of course a visit to my favourite spot in Brugge:

Our last morning presented the challenge of visiting the Church of Our Lady -> which Houses Madonna and Child by Michelangelo. the issue was that tourists were not being admitted due to church services so our task involved getting in as patrons but more importantly getting back out before we missed our bus. Mission Accomplished
